Cultural / Context information for the jury
Burger King – the home of the whopper- is known for its welcoming attitude, where guests are treated like kings and everyone is welcome. This time however, things were strikingly different, as the pandemic became the new normal in Saudi, and the country went into a total lockdown. People were asked to stay home; food was only available online, and restaurants had to close their doors, while guests could only rely on delivery services to satisfy their hunger. Suddenly, and for the first time ever since the brand launched in Saudi, the home of the whopper closed its doors, and guests were no longer welcome.
