Write a short summary of what happens in the film

The launch film revolves around Ali, a slob who has his life transformed once he finds the IKEA Catalogue - the ultimate book that holds all the answers. We follow his journey as he becomes a guru of the catalogue, sought out by everyone from shepherds to diplomats, all wanting to know which page number holds the answer to their particular issues. Stressed? Go to page 123. The right bedroom will help you sleep better and wake up more relaxed. Lonely? Page 100. Want to escape from everything? Page 40 will show you how to turn your bathroom into a refuge.

We open on Ali (late 20’s, beard, long hair, stained t-shirt) lying on his sofa in his messy living room. He hears a THUMP. Ali sits up, a plate falls off his tummy. He opens the front door and sees the IKEA Catalogue at a doorstep. As he picks it up, his eyes widen and we hear an audio overlay: “They’re calling it the book that can change your life… Cut to a suaver, smoother version of him, with a trimmed beard and expensive suit in a talk show as the host shows off the IKEA Catalogue to the camera. .. and they’re calling him the living proof. So Ali, can this book solve any problem? Ali: (nods) “Absolutely.” Host: ”What about loneliness?” Ali: ”Page 40. New couch. New friendships.” Guy from the audience: “I hate people.” Ali: ”Page 100.” Cut to Ali stopping at a traffic light. A car pulls up in the next lane and the mother (with her daughter) rolls down her window. Mother: “Ali, help us. We’ve grown apart.” Ali: ”Page 27.” Cut to a woman sobbing and calling Ali on the phone. Her: “My life is a mess.” Ali:- “The answer you seek is on page 48.” Cut to Ali counseling an arguing couple. Ali slides the catalog to them and says “Page 16, bedroom.” Cut to two tough looking military generals at a press conference with Ali in the center. Ali says: “Thanks to page 243, the talks have resumed.” People typing and texting. Aliya said ‘Yes! Thank you, Page 223. My posts are getting more ‘likes’. I used to have a lot of negative thoughts. Page 85 fixed it. My TV remote hasn’t gone missing since I read Page 26. I was never a morning person. Until I read page 66. Does anyone else feel the world’s becoming a better place? I have friends now. Cut to an Indian call center where everyone is reading the Ikea catalogue. Cut to a Chinese restaurant kitchen where everyone is reading the Ikea catalogue. Cut to an African barbershop where people are reading the Ikea catalogue. Cut to Ali in a car when his phone’s assistant comes on. Phone assistant: “Ali, what is the answer to life, the universe and everything?” Ali: “Page 42.” Cut to a shepherd reading the Ikea catalogue. He looks at his shack, with a glint in his eye.
