Spotify launched a series of films that show People from around the world singing a specific track from Amr Diab’s, Egypt’s top superstar’s, album. Spotify needed to use their main edge of having global exposure to stand out amidst other music platforms that were launching the same album & were more established in the Egyptian market. while the others brought Egyptian music to Egyptians, Spotify brought Egypt to the World.

Cultural / Context information for the jury

Egyptians take pride in their artists especially when they make it big internationally. Amr Diab is one of the artists most Egyptians boast about for his legacy. Hammering on this insight was for the brand differentiation.

The challenge was shooting the film to make it look like its in Bangkok even though it was a location in Beirut that we built within 24 hours. We had to shoot all four copies in one day so finding a location to suit that was difficult and creating Bangkok in the heart of Beirut was not the easiest task in town.
