Write a short summary of what happens in the film
The film goes beyond an ordinary music video; it touches the heart and inspires the soul of every Egyptian and filmmaker of the world. The film celebrates the third edition of the prestigious Gouna Film Festival (GFF) featuring actors, actresses, composers, producers, directors, and lyricists displaying their passion about the artistry of entertainment. With their diverse talents united to show what Egypt has to offer to the world. The stars are lip singing along to illustrate the beauty of unity and the cheerfulness of celebration that has resulted from the GFF. Enriched with snippets from previous years, of local and international celebrities supporting the event. The film is shot in the hosting destination of the festival, navigating the small getaway to reveal the unique spirit of the community. The song is an imagery of the celebratory anthem showcasing the dreamers, accomplishing the dream, in the land of dreams.
Cultural / Context information for the jury
Entertainment plays a leading role in Egyptian culture. TV celebrities and singers are close to Egyptian hearts and part of their family. Therefore, the GFF is a huge event for Egypt and the MENA region, it is our pride and joy to celebrate the successful talents. Creating a celebration anthem would easily integrate itself in the Egyptian culture.
The ultimate Egyptian dream is to get global recognition, but this is often hindered by geographical and exposure limitations. GFF grants the opportunity to display authentic Egyptian talent and exceptional filmmaking experts to the world.
ElGouna is a beach getaway with its own young-spirited culture. The community and the lifestyle are unique in the sense that it is more progressive, open to opportunity and achieving individuality. The town has its own rules which encourages Egyptians to become the best citizens they can be in respect to the mindset of the place.
Tell the jury about the creation of the original music track.
The magical melody smoothly starts, and we hear Adel Emam’s touching speech from the festival followed by an applause from the audience. Our celebration anthem then plays for 3 minutes and 37 seconds at a tempo of 140 beats per minute. To guarantee success we had the music produced by Osama ElHendy a prominent music producer known for his work with Amr Diab. He uses the fusion of Egyptian and western instruments, Egyptian Tabla, accordion, guitar, bouzouki, to help make the music speak for Egypt but relevant to all. The chorus highlights 3 beats to compliment the three claps seen in the video and heard in the lyrics. Three claps are the ideal according to the culture and acts as a symbolic gesture to celebrate the third edition of the GFF. Within the song we leave room for the melody to stand out and be memorable.
