Write a short summary of what happens in the radio or audio execution or campaign.

THE LONGEST HOUR is the story an explorer writing his final diary entry, trying to make sense of a desperate situation… a story of suffering and resilience as he and his ever weakening men try to hold on - depicting the inner turmoil and anguish of the human mind in wait of rescue. A story of fading hope that he and his men might be saved. As the situation deteriorates, we realize its all the while just a group of men waiting for their food delivery.

Cultural / Context information for the jury

It's a universal insight that waiting for your food delivery is tough and does strange things to the mind. From the moment you order, it feels time slows down and minutes start to feel like hours. Thinking about the delicious food just makes this worse, especially if you don’t know how far away your driver is. Deliveroo’s app allows customers to order food based on how long their delivery will take to arrive and can track drivers door-to-door, so they always know where their delivery is, and how long they have to wait. Our competitors don't have this ability on their apps, and have longer delivery averages, so their customers are often left in the dark waiting for their food. The job of our radio campaign was to dramatize the uncertainty of waiting and let our competitors' audience know we understand their pain, and to come give Deliveroo a go.

Script. Provide the full to radio/audio script in English.

We open on the sound of an ink quill pen scribing on thick cartridge paper. The howling of wind can be heard outside. MAIN VOICE. (a well spoken weathered english explorer type) “Diary entry one-twenty-seven”….. this may be my last.” “We’ve been holed up here for what feels like months”. “Morale is low… the men grow weaker with each passing minute” SECONDARY VOICES. (We can hear the distant coughing of the men -One of the men can be heard saying): “what’s happening to us sir?” MAIN VOICE. “Consumed with this damned feeling of emptiness….. knowing they may never find us.” (We hear our main narrator trying to to pick up the men’s morale addressing them in the background): “we’ll be alright…. they’ll find us.” “Jones ventured out to find help”… MAIN VOICE. We hear Jones: “I’m venturing out sir…. To find help.” MAIN VOICE. “I told him it was futile”… (We hear our main narrator addressing Jones in the background): “I’m telling you, it’s futile.” (We hear the loud whistling of the wind as the door is opened, Followed by it slamming shut.) MAIN VOICE (dread increased) “He never returned.” “As our last vestiges of hope fade with the evening light.” “We try to hold on…. Surely they must be close now.” ....... “I’ve never yearned for a Chicken Jalfrezi, and four Popadoms so much.” ANNOUNCER: “Time goes slow when you don’t know where your food is” “Switch to Deliveroo, and track drivers from door-to-door.” “Deliveroo. On-time, every-time.”
