Write a short summary of what happens in the radio or audio execution or campaign.
LOST CONTACT is the story a one woman who is seemingly abandoned in space and time. Alone, she is trying to make communication for anyone to come to her... but to no avail. As her supplies are running low, she is unable to reach anyone - perhaps the signal is bad, or she is too far away - she only has her own voice for comfort as she waits. Clearly a once strong sensibility, she clearly is at the very limit. The scene depicts the inner turmoil of the human mind in wait, as she tries to hold on for an answer. In the end, we realize that all this is just her struggling to wait for a food delivery.
Cultural / Context information for the jury
It's a universal insight that waiting for your food delivery is tough and does strange things to the mind. From the moment you order, it feels time slows down and minutes start to feel like hours. Thinking about the delicious food just makes this worse, especially if you don’t know how far away your driver is.
Deliveroo’s app allows customers to order food based on how long their delivery will take to arrive and can track drivers door-to-door, so they always know where their delivery is, and how long they have to wait. Our competitors don't have this ability on their apps, and have longer delivery averages, so their customers are often left in the dark waiting for their food.
The job of our radio campaign was to dramatize the uncertainty of waiting and let our competitors' audience know we understand their pain, and to come give Deliveroo a go.
Script. Provide the full to radio/audio script in English.
MAIN VOICE (a scared, unsure sounding early 30's woman)
"Hello?"
"By the time you hear this recording, it will be too late."
"Despite careful rationing, I've run out of supplies."
"It's been a lifetime since the last contact."
"I'm now resigned to the fact that no-one will reach me up here."
"Maybe the only reason I keep trying, is just to hear another voice...."
"Even if it is my own."
"Let the records show, I held out for as long as I could."
(we hear crackling as the faint hint of the line connecting becomes apparent)
"Wait. Wait."
(now more desperate) "Hello?"
"Are... you there?"
"...Can you hear me?"
(now voice is quivering)
"Tell me you haven't forgotten me."
"Tell me my Salmon Bento and Miso Soup are on their way!"
(we hear an automated female answer phone voice):
"Thank you for your message" (we hear the beeping of a phone off the hook)
ANNOUNCER:
“Time goes slow when you don’t know where your food is”
“Switch to Deliveroo, and track drivers from door-to-door.”
“Deliveroo. On-time, every-time.”
