Brief Explanation
Over the years, the Lebanese have grown accustomed to hearing bad news about their country, and 2011 was no different.
So when people woke up one morning to find posts of good news on their social media feeds it generated curiosity.
We wanted to give our friends, clients and partners a little glimmer of hope
So we created a New Year greeting micro site that mimicked that of CNN, with only good news coming from Lebanon.
When visitors clicked on any of the links, messages of hope appeared.
Even if it was fake, people believed it, and were happy to see the news.
Turns out, the hope for hope was there.
In a short period of 1 week, the site was shared over 3000 times.
Republique simply “shared” their hope with their friends and in turn, their friends shared it with theirs.
