Brief Explanation
To build early interest in MBC’s new TV series, 04, a transmedia marketing campaign that began three weeks prior to airing the series directed audiences to a website “whatis04.com” where they were asked to log-in with their Facebook account. A 90-second video then took the user through a first person journey of a villa – the house in which our four lead characters would ultimately reside. Several aspects of the experience were personalized for each user culminating in seeing one of the 04 characters browsing their Facebook profile and typing a personalized message inviting the user to meet on January 14 (the series launch). Users were then pushed to the 04 Facebook page where they could find other clues to the ‘what is 04’ question.
