Write a short summary of what happens in the film
Our film shows a euphoric state of mind that the youth experience while falling in love; contradicting feelings. The film starts with a beautiful shoreline, where we introduce our rough-edged male artist, Asser, singing to a girl he is mesmerized about and an elegant female artist, Myriam, singing passionately about a guy: both metaphorically referencing the exciting-beach-getaway-experience; our product. We go through a day in their life. Asser at a lagoon, Myriam at shore. Myriam runs towards fireworks at midnight, Asser dances softly to the morning sun. Myriam standing on a huge yacht with friends mid-sea, Asser sitting in a private car-ride mid-desert. Party animal Asser, and elegant moves by Myriam. Asser in a small boat with a friend, Myriam enjoying herself with some kids. Their needs are different; but their paths unite. Although they want drastically different things, they manage to find all they need in one place.
Cultural / Context information for the jury
The concept of this film is based highly on the artists persona and reputation. Both their voices are very strongly recognizable and iconic to Egyptians and both extremely appealing to the opposing gender. Both have strong presence and a sense of sex appeal. Myriam Faris has a uniquely exceptional charm; used to be a ballet dancer and is seen as a performer that always turned heads. She hasn't released an album for years and her appearance was a surprise. Asser Yassin is actually an actor, also a performer, and this was his first song. He is known for his charisma and wittiness. Building on the brand image, these choice of celebrities was rather unconventional and their combination captured a lot of attention.
Tell the jury about the creation of the original music track.
The creation of the tune used two main elements; the instruments and the tempo to reflect our concept; the contradicting feelings and fusion of emotions. The selection of instruments was crucial; the saxophone was used to give-off the cheerful summer vibes, the Spanish guitar chords was used to radiate joyful feels, blended with the authentic Arabian oriental drum, the darbuka, to create a fusion that seems warm, intimate and familiar. The tempo was repetitive to viral, and quickly resonate and seem familiar to our audience. The melody had fast-paced verses to reflect that dynamic activities and the slow-paced verses reflected the relaxed beachy activities. Asser and Myriam are both a surprise to sing, they were used as artists unexpectedly and induced curiosity to our audience.
