The Campaign
The purpose was to showcase how augmented reality a new innovative solution, could support DEWA to monitor their substation work more efficiently by saving time through error detection & expert assistance.
Workers will have access to guided work instruction on site and be provided with intuitive augmented instructions on the job. They’ll therefore understand the processes faster, and make fewer errors.
It will also create a safer environment for the operators by giving them the ability to visualize, passively record, and analyze temperature data in their real world environment as well as improve maintenance and monitoring.
Both the expert and the onsite team member will be able to quickly and intelligently resolve issues or concerns that they may have more efficiently.
Creative Execution
The one wearing the helmet will be able to access all the real time data and instructions needed for Augmented Guidance, helping the on site engineer identify the problem and solving it efficiently and faster. The platform to create the software was "Unity".
The POC was launched during GITEX Technology Week in October 2017 and the actual development will be finalized by Jun 2018.
Once this innovative initiative gets implemented across industries it will transform the way businesses function.
We have successfully showcased the proof of concept that shows, how efficiently the idea can be implemented into the real world for effective maintenance and on-field communication.
The long term plan and investments are mentioned in the confidential information below.
This specific project is the proof of the change in the way industrial works function. Not only for a specific brand or industry but many industries will benefit from the same. Industrial Augmented Reality is the new industrial revolution what we all know as Industry 4.0 that helps to facilitate communications and increases efficiency.
