The Campaign
Through quirky games, mind-boggling puzzles and acts of kindness, the recipe book encouraged people to come together with loved ones and live life on the lighter side.
The book covered 10 key inspirational virtues including Kindness, Hope, Endurance, Giving, Reflection, Family, Sharing, Patience, Love and Gratitude. Creative ideas included finger wrestling game, compliment stickers, love letter postcards, baking recipes and cute ways to give back to those in need during Ramadan.
Creative Execution
We created an A5 journal-style book which was full of quirky illustrations and beautiful typography all customized by our designers. The book was printed on thick, recycled stock to give it a homemade, organic feel. For the recipe, the instructions were printed on actual baking paper using silk screen printing. An additional scaled out sheet of baking paper was inserted so people could actually use it to cook the recipe.
Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
An overflowing amount of love from our clients.
Successful sales at the Dubai Design District Art Market and through the website. And most importantly, spreading love and kindness during Ramadan.
Unit cost: 60dhs (USD20) per book
Distribution method: Sold online at http://thisishatch.com/project/4 as well as the d3 Art Market.
Production Run: 500 unites
The spirit of Ramadan is all about coming together, sharing experiences, and giving back.
But for such an exciting time of year, people tend to get a little ‘too serious’. We wanted to bring back the light-hearted humor and playful nature of people during the holy month. The challenge was to do this while still respecting the core values and cultural beliefs of Ramadan.
