The Campaign

This film follows a typical newly married Lebanese man (Protagonist) as he takes us through life with his new bride (Antagonist). After a quick glimpse into their hectic life, he invites the viewer to “Be Smooth”, and see the positive in every situation. The protagonist begins by describing his beautiful wife. After waking her with breakfast in bed, the wife stirs and knocks the tray across the bedroom. As he describes how he always feels her presence everywhere, he reveals a white washcloth caked with her makeup. “We discover something new about each other everyday,” he says, before cutting to the couple relaxing on the couch. The wife suddenly lets out a high-pitched cackle and startles the husband. As the film concludes, the husband reveals his secret to a good marriage, before cutting to the wife ranting away on the drive home. The message? Even though life can be intense, there’s always a positive side. Just like your coffee is smooth (with Coffee-Mate), so too can you be. #BeSmooth We are left with the protagonist wishing for ‘beautiful days ahead’, before we once again hear the shrieking sound of the wife’s unusual laugh.
