The Campaign
This is the story of an ancient land, destined for wine. Between the great mountains famous for their cedars, lies a valley lined with long pine trees. We see falcons and eagles roaming the sky. In the sun, we see the hares hide underground to stay cool. At one point, the Romans settled here. They built a temple for their god of wine nearby, and grew acres of vineyards. Their wine needed a cool shelter. So they dug long caves under the terrain to store their amphorae. Centuries passed and the caves were forgotten until Jesuit missionaries settled in the land. They labored the land and they built a farm and a chapel. They also built an observatory to watch the stars. But life was not complete without wine, so they too grew vineyards, and infused craft and passion into winemaking, unaware of the surprise that awaits them under their feet. This is the story embodied in 36 meticulously crafted characters, put together to tell the story of Chateau Ksara. Detailed images depict moments captured in time. These include spoken tradition from around the terrain and about the Jesuits, remains of Roman civilization and the discovery of the caves.
