The Campaign
Presented on a large scale screen at the start of the visitor experience, the film welcomes people to the event and explains, in simple everyday terms, the nature of the energy challenge. The story begins with the fact our planet is sustained by three essentials: food, water, energy. Each of those precious is under increasing pressure, particularly as demand for energy continues to grow. The narrative then moves to consider Planet Earth in 2050 when it will be home to more than 9 billion people. This future challenge will be ensuring we have enough food, water and energy for all. The script explains that cities will help us meet this challenge. By 2050, they will be bigger; new ones will grow. Cities are highly innovative and dynamic places that bring people together. They will be the breeding ground of great ideas for improving energy efficiency, in transport, for example. The film moves to its conclusion: given the energy challenge is something we all face, everyone has a part to play. It invites all visitors to find out what they can do, prompting them to Join The Energy Generation and help make a better future, together.
