The Campaign
This song and its video clip invite the Lebanese to stand up and close the shop.
It portrays the country as a real shop, where politicians can buy everything even its citizens. The clip uses footage from Stop the Shop previous successful campaign that managed to rally people behind the cause of corruption and start affecting real institutional changes in the country, as well as footage from the demonstration against the garbage crisis (see next question) that were happening at the moment in the country.
The lyrics talk directly to the Lebanese citizen: it starts by showing an understanding of his pessimism, disgust and apathy. It then reminds citizens, they have been treated like any piece of merchandise by those opportunistic politicians being sold at any occasion.
The song was purposely written in an engaging and revolutionary tonality - without being too intellectual - to make sure it appeals to the masses and has the power to serve as a street song during the demonstrations.
