The Campaign

The ‘Opening Ceremony’ film showcases and celebrates the ‘life and times of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa’, linking his story to that of Qasr Al Muwaiji and the ultimate rise of modern day Abu Dhabi. The film begins with archive footage and powerful historic images of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa – projected onto Qasr Al Muwaiji’s various stones, walls, glass, floors, atriums and fabric surfaces, to connect the past with today. Our narrator of the film explains the story of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa, from his birth to the established leader that he is today. Towards the end of the film, we begin to see modern day footage of Abu Dhabi school children, to create a sense of balance between the archive material featuring Sheikh Khalifa and Qasr Al Muwaiji. The children are interacting with Qasr Al Muwaiji’s soon to be inaugurated exhibits, with excitement, being captivated and wowed as they move around this innovative new space and discovering new things.
