Brief Explanation

The 8, a luxurious property development on the Palm in Dubai, needed a new brand identity inspired by art, fashion, design and architecture. It needed a one of a kind logo that would communicate its high-end and timeless modern character.

The Brief

The brand identity of The 8 had to be timeless but modern and inspired by a sophisticated mix of art, fashion design and modern architecture. The main aspect of the logo, the cypher 8, is composed in a never before seen way with its reflective e. The two letters become both the symbol of infinity and the symbol of good fortune with a change of perspective. Simple yet bold, it’s the perfect blend of symmetry and sophistication.

How the final design was conceived

The font used for the logo is bold yet elegant. The clean and curvaceous lines are influenced by art, fashion, design and architecture. The cypher 8 blends in perfectly with the rest of the logo and consists of a reflective and unique composition of the letter e. The logo has therefore a new layer of depth, as it is with a change of perspective the symbol of infinity as well as the symbol of good luck. Other design elements are created with the repetitive patterns of this unique 8 composition.

Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market

The distinctive design created a buzz and its unique brand identity helped the brand stand out amongst the thousands of luxury residencies and hotels in the Dubai market
