Brief Explanation
The key objective with a name is to come up with a name that sticks in your mind. A name that can grow with the brand’s expansion and is not limiting. The scope of the site’s vision required a name and logo that are credible yet creative.
The Brief
Create a name and logo for a web portal that will be the LinkedIn and Facebook for Heavy Industry
How the final design was conceived
The name has two double “oo”s in it. These are an identifier and were the focus of the design task. We looked at the iconic symbols of heavy industry and arrived at the links in the chain as a suitable metaphor for the linked community for heavy industry.
Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
Since launch in October the site has gained a growth of 203 users and 69 corporate clients with at total of 1,484 listings. All this is without spending any money on marketing the site, all organic growth. This is a testament to the sticky nature of the name and the success of the logo to provide confidence and credibility to the brand.
