Brief Explanation

The Challenge: Most Season's Greetings stuff - cards, emailers, gifts, etc - we receive (we are an advertising agency) is a load of rubbish. At the same time, we too send a Season's Greetings piece to our clients, colleagues and peers in our business. Key Objectives: 1. Since we're an advertising business, to promote ourselves as idea creators, we had to make sure our Season's Greetings piece was a great idea. 2. Have a bit of fun and spread good cheer during the Festive Season.

The Brief

Come up with The Greatest Ever Season's Greetings gift for 2013.

How the final design was conceived

We created The Greatest Gift Ever. Our premise: What gift can we send that even The Person Who Has Everything doesn’t have. The answer was a single, solitary sock. We all have in the recesses of our cupboards, a sock with a missing partner. Hence, by reuniting a lost sock, we gave a gift that even The Person Who Has Everything doesn’t have. Hence: The Greatest Gift Ever! Presented in premium packaging, dressed in festive red, and loaded with cheerful copy. Everything about it was great.

Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market

The Greatest Gift Ever was sent to clients and peers and colleagues on the advertising and marketing and communications fraternity. The successful response (inclusive of varying degrees of comradely profanity!) was in the form of appreciative phone calls and emails from the recipients.
