Execution
The new Patrol is more luxurious than other SUVs in its class. We just needed to get potential customers to see it for themselves. So we “forced” other SUV owners to test-drive the Patrol. We blocked in their vehicles and left a note encouraging them to move the Patrol. Once inside, they heard a message explaining features and inviting them for a real test drive at the dealership. On average, 7 of 10 respondents signed up for the longer test drive, and this stunt will be an integral part of the 2011 Patrol marketing plan.
