Write a short summary of what happens in the film.
What we see visually is a film without a hero, or without filmed footage. The film is entirely made up of Instagram posts that are real and not staged. Today, we are swung by what we see on social media. People of all ages, sexes and class may want to go to a place or avoid it based on how it is portrayed and who consumes it on social media. So imagine a wheel made of Instagram posts spinning and once we talk about a topic, it quickly spins to that direction then the opposite preference of it by showing a real post of both. This technique will allow us to see whatever trend, of whatever age, and truly liberate people from choices by telling them if you prefer this or that it it totally up to you do not let this dictate what you have to like or hate.
Tell the jury about type(s) of animation used and summarise any relevant challenges or techniques.
This is a photo realistic full CG film, no film footage was used, the main objective was to digitally create a photo realistic natural animation of a fictional apparatus of flying polaroid stock cards, yet it had to look extremely believable and comparable to today’s demanding film look. To achieve this, we created physically correct dynamic simulations of the ocean surface, the wind and the paper dynamics, to produce a sequence of very realistic animation, and then cut it together to make the film, then we used physical lighting and shading techniques to render the digital assets into a photo real picture. To achieve this, we used the most recent and the most accurate physically correct animation software and techniques, and afterwards a state of the art, feature film rendering engine, to produce the final pictures.
