Brief Explanation

The old Yaris was a small car that often went unnoticed on the roads. It was revamped for younger drivers with a bigger and bolder design and a vibrant color, giving it a head-turning presence on the road for the first time. This TVC is a celebration of the new Yaris – with exciting music, shots, and explosions of paint throughout; the ad embodies a bigger and bolder spirit, connecting directly to our younger audience.

Creative Execution

The challenge of this spot was to show the new Yaris Hatchback as a bolder, and more powerful version of the Yaris. To achieve this target, we focused on fresh and trendy editing to give a great emotional impact to the audience. Some neon lights were create in 3D CGI to match the neon lights shot on set. This lighting technique was used to enhance the brilliance of the real neon studio lighting. The flying paints effect has been done mixing several plates of real paint shot separately on set, being merged at the compositing stage in Flame. The whole car interior had to be recreated in 3D CGI for the 'light painting' shot to recreate the lights and shadows of the red 3D CGI wave of light. This was the most difficult challenge, we had to re imagine any minimal detail of the real product. The final packshot has been done totally in 3D CGI, except the product. The success of the VFX in this TVC is noticeable at the moment when you enjoy a colorful, fresh, and dynamic image treatment, without thinking about if it's real or not.
