Brief Explanation

This campaign held draws on airbrushed limited edition Vespas based on the eight World Cup winning countries seen in the ad, in celebration of the fun-loving spirit of the World Cup utilising the hashtag #VIVAVespa. The story of this ad is about a young Brazilian boy working in a Vespa garage. On the best day of his life, he decides to take a ride on an amazing Vespa with his present customer, Khaled Alrandi (beloved Kuwaiti singer and songwriter), travelling the 8 countries that have raised the World Cup. In England, the boy's dreams come true when he gets to play with Manchester United superstars Dareen Fletcher, Danny Welbeck, Juan Mata, Rafael da Silva, Chris Smalling, and Javier 'Chicharita' Hernandez - participants in the World Cup for their respective countries - a dream that turns out to be not a dream at all when Khaled visits with a surprising memento... VIVA's partnership with Manchester United is one of its most successful partnerships, appealing to the youth and the population as a supporter of athletics and football. VIVA's brand image and likability is closely linked to the successful continuation of this partnership amongst its target market.

Creative Execution

The VIVA Vespa song was written and performed by Khaled Alrandi specifically at VIVA's behest. The VIVA Branding and Advertising team shared their vision with Khaled, who wrote the song with a Brazilian flavour for the occasion. It cheers us on to aspire to championships and success, uniting everyone in the spirit of football and our desire to win it! Khaled taught himself and trained to speak and sing with a Portuguese accent.
