Brief Explanation
“STC Smart Devices” takes us on a journey through the inner procedures of STC, letting us witness the journey of a smartphone, its “coming-of-age”, until it lands in the customer´s hands. They are constantly training for efficiency, data rate speed, power, strength, reflexes and durability until they are released to the real world in a triumphant way.
Creative Execution
The STC Smart Devices animations consist of 50% manual keyframe animation and 50% motion capture data. Motion Capture is the basis for each single animation in the film, but lots of refinements and improvements add on top to create those small characters. They should move and behave realistic but at the same time have a bit of a “tiny feel” and a slight touch of cartoon timing to it. This careful balance was only possible with realistic data to start with and precise keyframe animation to refine the animations towards a final stage.
