Brief Explanation
Directing humor is one of the most challenging jobs in this business, especially when the scripts are about true human insights.
In these commercials we needed to amplify the sense of frustration of the protagonists to the maximum, in order to depict what it feels like to live in a city like Cairo.
One of the biggest challenges to the director was to do this while retaining the humanity of the characters so viewers could still relate to the insights.
The director in this case created a very distinct reality, a visual expression of one inner self in an alterated state of frustration.
He accomplish this through meticulous choice of prosthetic make up to allow the actors expressions to shine through, obviously deliberate choice of actions and camera angles contributed to the mesmerizing humor of this film.
