Brief Explanation

Lebanese with special needs make up at least 1O% of the population; however, they are one of the most marginalized citizens in the country, in civil and political rights.

The Brief

Touch, the leading mobile operator in Lebanon, promises a new world. Being always on the lookout for new services, touch took it upon itself to provide a tailored bundle for people with special needs.

How the final design was conceived

Entitled“ma'ak”,as in “with you”,the bundle uses a common Lebanese expression used over the phone to acknowledge good connectivity and being"in line"with the other party. Equality and ease of communication are reflected in the design as well through 3 superimposed layers/languages of the word “Ma’ak”:Arabic braille and sign languages, and Arabic Lebanese.The braille is embossed on the flyers,to be read by the blind.The transparency of the layers speaks for the bundle's essence and title. Touch is promoting a sense of privilege and equality for people with special needs,a feeling we hoped to communicate even for a split of a second.

Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market

The bundle featured in different newspapers and digital forums. It was also praised by the Lebanese ministers of telecommunication and social affairs.
