Brief Explanation

The challenge was to create an identity that is primarily targeted towards English speaking kindergarten and school children aged between 3 to 16 but which would also appeal to buyers of office supplies and professional artist equipment.

The Brief

Trainect, a Middle East distributor of stationery brands as well as consumer electronics, wanted to launched it’s own stationery and art equipment brand under the name “Quilo”.

How the final design was conceived

The solution was to develop an iconic logo mark inspired by the Q letter form and the nib of a quill. A simple logo design that can be positioned to appeal to multiple target audiences as well as future proofing the brand identity as it expands into new markets.

Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market

The Quilo brand was successfully launched in Iran in the summer of 2014 with plans to expand into the UAE and beyond in the near future. 360⁰ integrated marketing communications helped to create desired brand awareness, which in-turn resulted in product lines being sold out in less than 3 months from the launch date. The Quilo identity and packaging designs were very well received by the brand’s trade partners, as well as consumers.

Trainect was established in 2011 with an objective of introducing innovative stationery and consumer electronics brands into the region. Trainect is proud to be the distributor of world famous stationery brands, as well as consumer electronics. Trainect has launched its own stationery brand under the name “Quilo”. Over the last few years, Trainect has strived to become a emerging market leader with its ability to anticipate ever changing market trends in the stationery and consumer electronics sectors.
