Brief Explanation
Barwa Bank decided to highlight their position as a leading Qatari bank on the occasion of Qatar National Day. A recent Ramadan campaign had used the stylistic device of children ‘painting on air’ (in fact on sheets of glass), and we decided to build upon the brand equity that had created.
We see Qatari people of all ages painting on glass with either maroon or white paint, filmed at various iconic locations around Doha.
A glass-transporter truck delivers the sheets of glass to the main HQ of Barwa Bank, where a crowd of enthusiastic Qataris cheer as the glass sheets are lifted into place. Finally we reveal a giant Qatari flag on the front of the building.
The bank prides itself on its Qatari origins, underscored by the use of the flag on the front of the building to show its commitment and support of Qatar National Day.
The film was shot entirely on location in Doha, after the necessary permits and permissions were obtained, followed by editing and CGI in Dubai, and a specially commissioned soundtrack from BKP.
The campaign received highly favourable comment, both from within the bank and from prominent Qatari citizens.
