Brief Explanation
To create a communication that does not bore the audience with global warming/doomsday warnings. It had to make people aware of their reponsibilities as individuals towards mother earth.
The medium was a .gif emailer that was sent out to all clients and industry associates in an effort to garner support and solidarity for Earth Hour.
The Brief
It was a self brief.
Create a compelling communication that stands for a cause (Earth hour) and at the same time profile DDB as an agency that is aware of its social responsibility.
DDB oman has in the past espoused socio-environmental causes and this was another step in that direction.
How the final design was conceived
The final design was based on the idea of "Switch Off"
The DDB logo was used to enfore the idea ( please refer to the design enclosed) and then drive home the message of Earth Hour.
Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
The emailer proved to be hugely successful with clients and industry people (especially other advertising agencies) writing in to appreciate the effort.To top it off they also observed the earth hour religiously.
