Brief Explanation

The aim was to create something that would be more than just a piece of desk ornamentation and would also be relevant to du. It had to have the uniqueness to invite interaction, but also serve the functional purpose of a calendar.

The Brief

Design a calendar that could become a great way to interact with the brand throughout the year.

How the final design was conceived

People from nearly 200 different nationalities reside in the UAE. However there's very little cross-cultural mingling beyond the work place, with language being the single biggest barrier. So, we created a calendar that literally got people talking. A desk calendar that teaches you a useful foreign phrase by just using it every day like any normal calendar, with every month featuring a new language. Suddenly, greeting someone in Arabic, asking for the price in Hindi or thanking someone in Tagalog became as easy as looking up the date.

Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market

10,000 copies were distributed to a great response from all who received it. du became known for providing not just telecommunication solutions, but communications solutions, too.
