To take the reader into a rich visual tour of the mosque, by highlighting its design intricacies through the marriage of opulence and simplicity, and portray the vision of Sheikh Zayed.
The Brief
The brief was to create a VIP limited edition bilingual book that presents in pictorial form both a general survey and a detailed analysis of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque (one the most iconic landmarks in modern Islamic architecture. It houses the world’s 4th largest hand woven carpet and largest Swarovski-crystal chandelier)
The audience is affluent collectors of luxury coffee tables books.
How the final design was conceived
We created a visual journey by drawing inspiration from the five pillars of Islam and from the five-pointed star concept that resonates throughout the interior and exterior of the mosque structure.
The book takes the reader into a rich visual tour of the mosque, highlighting its design intricacies through the marriage of opulence and simplicity, eventually creating an iconic landmark that represents not only the essence of traditional and contemporary Islamic Architecture, but also reflects the vision of a great leader for a deeply religious and heritage-rooted nation.
Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
The book was adopted by the government of Abu Dhabi as one of the official gifts to be presented to other Heads of States and official dignitaries. It is on display at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque library and is now considered by the public as the ultimate resource of high-end image reference library and information on the mosque.
