Brief Explanation
The primary challenge was to communicate the right message using the right images which were to be sourced locally. Being a 100% local bank, we wanted to ensure that the footprint bank sohar has left and the milestones being achieved are not only benefitting the bank, but they are an element of progress of the nation as well which we are here to serve.
The Brief
the annual report 2010 should communicate to stakeholders as well as the general public the strong base that the bank has been able to create in a short period of only 4 years. It also has to reflect the challenges that Bank Sohar had successfully overcome keeping in mind that its the newest bank in the country whilst the international financial markets faced difficulties. Having created a solid base and imprinted our footstep, the annual report should communicate the past, present and the focused direction in which we are heading towards as the results reflect the same progress.
How the final design was conceived
from the several options presented and shortlisted, the top 3 were discussed and communicated with the top management. Based on extensive discussions and feedback, one direction was chosen and improved to meet and exceed the expected standard. A significant importance was given to the images being used and how they were used in order to reflect the right message yet give the look and feel of a local Omani entity as well as reflect our corporate image
Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
The annual report was received with very positive feedback from stakeholders as well as the general public. We have received a number of appreciation messages from various people within and outside the bank. The annual report has also bagged numerous awards internationally.
