Write a short summary of what happens in the film
In a street in Saudi Arabia in the 90s, a group of boys are playing football. The mood intensifies as our hero prepares to shoot a penalty-kick, wearing his professional-attire. Taking a deep breath, he runs towards the ball, but is interrupted by a girl screaming his name. He stops and turns to his little sister, informing him that mother is ordering him to go get lunch. As he asks to be excused, another boy, barefoot in a thobe, runs intensely and makes his shot. To-his-luck, the camera shifts to an unexpected appearance of a man in a car, impressively shocked. Cut to Hamad walking with the food-bag, turning to see his substitute surrounded by friends cheering, holding a SAR150,000-cheque. As disappointment overwhelms Hamad’s face, a voice-over sweeps in assuring that he never needs to miss out on his dream again with HungerStation.
Cultural / Context information for the jury
During the 90s, delivery services were rarely offered by only a few restaurants with specific closing times and geographical limitations. In more rural areas, young people would work hard to reach their dreams, with all sorts of limitations surrounding their abilities to achieve them. Missed opportunities was something no one could afford, and luck always played a role in achievements. Using the realism of the time with the nature of the service, player perfect grounds to amplify the easiness of using the services of the brand.
