Write a short summary of what happens in the radio advert.
In Egypt, women make up just 20% of the work force. A statistic that has remained stagnant for years. Women are twice as likely to be hired by companies and organizations in spite of having the same qualifications. Unilever Egypt wanted to draw attention to the problem in way that was powerful and thought provoking. A radio spot that explored a very interesting execution device to bring the problem to fore.
Cultural/Context information for the jury.
In Egypt women are half as likely to be hired by companies in spite of having the same qualifications and experience, as their male counterparts.
This radio spot brings this truth to light. Everything about the man and woman in this spot are same. They even share the same name Nour, which in Egypt is a gender neutral name.
Provide the full radio advert script in English.
Title: The Interview
Duration: 60 seconds
UN Women Radio
Left Earphone Male VO
My name is Nour and I’m 25 years old. I have a Masters degree in Business Administration. My thesis was about overcoming barriers to entry in developing countries. I consider myself highly motivated. I’m passionate, hard-working and a team leader who isn’t afraid of taking bold decisions. Now outside of work, I love to cook. I have a food blog. I post pictures of things I make. Hmm.. I love to travel. And of course I love football.
Hmm…That kind of sums me up in a nutshell.

Interviewer: Thank you Nour. I am impressed. And congratulations. Can you start Sunday?
Right Earphone: Silence
Left Earphone: Sunday will be perfect.
Announcer:
In spite of the same qualifications and background, women in Egypt are five times less likely to get hired. At Unilever we support an equal workforce. And believe gender plays no role in who gets hired and who doesn’t. It’s our commitment today, tomorrow and forever.
