Children these days are not as active as they were in previous generations. In fact, 80% of children between the ages of 11 and 17 aren’t physically active enough, according to the World Health Organization. The omnipresence and unstoppable rise of mobile devices, computers and gaming consoles have made kids spend more time inside, resulting in major health problems such as obesity and diabetes.

The OMO PlayFont is a font crafted by movement, with no boundaries or rules. It invites parents and children to rediscover the wonders of playing outside, an alphabet inspired by the great outdoors. A tailor-made algorithm scanned over 5000 photos, identifying the pictures' contours and linking them to each letter of the alphabet. Characters shaped by play. Real stain textures were applied to each letter, taken from the very places the kids dirted their clothes by playing and learning. Launched with a free e-book, customizable with any kids' name, each letter taught parents about the benefits of playing outside.
