Off-screen, where gravity works, the “YOLO” is a frequently injured creature. A boaster from the dawn of time, it has long since had a somewhat delusional relationship with flight, most likely connected to a systemic addiction to adrenaline. It is a performer in aspiration, a lover of experimentation, not always psychologically equipped to recognize objective limitations and therefore misguided about the expression “you only live once”. Its exploits, stunts, and accidents, spread virally throughout history well before the age of the internet hashtag. As for the web ecosystem, only the cat animal can compete against the YOLO for the title of most viewed and most shared. Some scientist believe that the YOLO’s thirst for attention, admiration and hazard, put it on the list of creatures most likely to become extinct without external intervention. We beg differ.
