Brief Explanation
Vodafone Bill Manager is a service designed to protect you against unpredictable bill shocks due to roaming or out-of-bundle charges.
To dramatize this, we created a horror film series about the shock that comes with when receiving a bill amount you did not plan or anticipate.
HOME synopsis:
A family of four returns home from a relaxing holiday, only to find their house unrecognizable with haunted sounds and shadows creeping around every corner. The father, compelled to protect his family, starts following an alarming sound coming from upstairs. As the sound pulls him closer and closer, we see that it’s his mobile causing all the commotion, flashing a terrifying neon message…
Execution
The key objective was to tell these stories like films, and not like ads. Keeping with the signature eerie feel of the campaign, the film is set at night. When choosing the right haunted house, we picked a place that looked normal in daylight, but under the mix of tungsten warm lights and cool cold exterior, it revealed a horror film feel. The cast looked like they belonged in a 90's horror film. Light was used to create dramatic shadows on the character’s faces, such as stormy lighting flashes from outside, spooky candles, and TV reflections. We also used recurring scary movie themes for the audience to identify with, such as curtains blowing, a big willow tree outside, mist, rainy windows and lightening. All this worked together in leading our characters toward the mobile phone which housed the ultimate shock and horror.
