This is the story of a plastic spoon – a surprisingly long journey that will make you question your understanding of convenience.
Creative Execution
Big budget shoots around the world to bring a 4.5 billion year old story to life don’t line up with a vision to make the world a more sustainable place. We needed to work with existing footage and “steal shots” on other shoots or in unguarded sections of supermarkets. The budget was kept at a minimum, image libraries granted us discounts, and the postproduction was done for the greater good rather than a greater ROI. With these constraints came the challenge to find the right footage (from dinosaurs to spoon factory), which meant the team spent nights and weekends finding the right clip, contacting even hobby videographers on Youtube for image rights. The grade then had to create a consistent look for all footage – 90 pieces shot by 90 cameramen with different cameras, lenses, lighting conditions. In the end the bill amounted to 21635 USD total.
