The Campaign

The TVC is a tribute to the customers of the bank, showcasing different moments with characters from different backgrounds in their real life settings. A new graduate walks into his first job interview. A young entrepreneur sets up his first independent office space. A young employee reveals to his colleagues that he has gotten promoted. An older father and his son own a small restaurant together (the son is the chef). The father gets bad news on the phone and the son lifts up his spirits. A new couple visits the doctor and sees an image of their child in the ultrasound for the first time. A large merger is taking place between an international company and a local one, the meeting has been going on for hours. A light architect plans and executes an art piece where he brings new life to an old abandoned ship. A father takes his son to see the camel races for the first time. A forward thinking Kuwaiti drives a Tesla into the open road. Finally, a collection of portraits highlights the heroes as well as others, signifying how each have their own story, and how KFH is with them through it all.

Creative Execution

The challenge was to shoot real people in real locations around Kuwait, but also to depict Kuwait in a new way by choosing angles and locations not shot before. The cinematographer scouted with the production team and the agency some of the best locations that had never been shot for a TVC or film before in an attempt to balance out business and real life moments as per the requirements of the script. Utilizing an array of lighting directions (natural light, neon reflections, light mist, shadows, spot lights, etc) as well as making most of the lighting visible in the frame (neon signs, boat installation, sun rays, black light fixture, ceiling panels, etc) helped elevate the corporate tone into something more natural, human, and emotional.
