The Campaign
The film tells the story of journalist Ayman Mohyeldin, the inspiration of the film and a role model for the Arab youth. He attributes his success to embracing opportunities that appeared in front of him at a young age. He was driven not by fear of failure but by the determination to creating meaningful stories while keeping his eyes on success. At a young age, he rose above the challenges and the hardships of journalism and wars, embracing the good and the bad equally. He expected more from himself and as a result he succeeded and reaped the rewards.
In the film we follow a travel journalist who travels the world to cover as many stories as he can, capturing the truth for his people. We show him living the sweet and the bitter, the comfortable and the hard. We show him jumping to war zones to be in the middle of the incidents he is reporting on, capturing the words of his interviewee first hand, following a tornado and a home party. Accompanied with a beautiful script full of inspiration we establish that "life is both beautiful and foreboding".
Creative Execution
Our agency is only 1 years old and we have basic creative and production capabilities, as we lack an agency media producer it was a tough job bringing all the elements of the movie together.
Budget was an issue, we had an extremely tight budget and we wanted to show the journey of a travel journalist who travels the world to cover as many stories as he can and bring the truth back to people. We also wanted to show both sides of his life, interviewing refugees and politicians, following a tornado and a home party.
Due to minimal resources, we wrote the script in-house, and the production house decided to volunteer with the composed music since there was no budget for it and they also shared our vision to producing the Levant's best film to date.
We wanted to make a movie that moves people, with the help of a brilliant director and a non greedy production house it came beautifully to life. Using Ayman Moheyldin as a talent was hard because of our client's guidelines but after launching the film he endorsed it and shared the film on his social media channels.
