Brief Explanation

Kinokuniya is a globally known bookseller of repute. The store in Dubai Mall, UAE is a massive 68,000 square feet wide paragon book gallery which stocks more than half a million books and thousand magazines in English, Arabic, Japanese, French, German and Chinese at any given time.

The Brief

We were asked to make Kinokuniya’s wide range of books to stand out amidst the rest of the competition.

How the final design was conceived

A book can influence and inspire people in all kinds of ways. We wanted to bring this aspect to light so readers realise the power of a book. After a lot of research, we found a number of links between a book and cultural trends. We decided to illustrate these links in a way that showed how a single book affected the world, from the seemingly simple to the more bizarre.
