Brief Explanation
IBM is an American multinational technology and consulting corporation. The company manufactures and markets computer middleware, software and various digital and non-digital services. The industries IBM operates in include IT consulting, IT services and computer hardware and software within more than 170 countries.
The Brief
The brief was to educate people on why diversity is important and showcase how IBM is an equal opportunity employer.
How the final design was conceived
The initiative that inspired this project led to the main idea of the design execution. With the help of this design, it was very essential to make our target audience understand that the message was not an ordinary one. Also, it needed to convey a positive yet a strong message to its recipient. In order to do that, we needed a simple message that didn’t break the IBM guidelines. Creating shapes that would work well with C6 envelopes was another process that was very important to lock. The shapes had to look different and recognizable at the same time. Shapes that the recipient can relate to but also have a unique touch to it as well. After a couple of trail and errors we locked the perfect shape to the envelope that created its innovational look. We then printed the Direct Mailers on a special paper using the closest color to the brand guidelines that would print white text perfectly on it. To get the white text printed on the special paper we used the white silk-screen method. Lastly, the laser cut technique was used to get the desired shapes and got custom made C6 envelopes.
Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
Using art and design to fight the social evils of prejudice. Build teamwork and a healthy working environment.
