Brief Explanation

Qatalum sends its products to nearly every corner of the world. Aluminium and Qatalum’s importance has soared in recent years as the precious metal has become increasingly imperative within a variety of industries which include the automotive, construction and consumer goods sectors. Bearing in mind that some Middle East countries have been ranked among the most polluted countries in the world, Qatalum has worked tirelessly to quell this characterisation within every step of their production process by following best practices to reduce and minimise their environmental impact.

The Brief

The carefully crafted attention Qatalum pays to each step of their production methodology is based on protecting the environment. The public however, has not felt the effect of these endeavours. Some audiences wrongly believe that manufacturing may waste water, air and energy to produce aluminium. As an agency we’ve employed every effort to showcase just how environmentally friendly Qatalum is. Expressing to a wider audience the manner with which the company recognises the value of recycling, natural resource preservation and the importance of the world’s ecosystems has been the agency’s key aim.

How the final design was conceived

We opted to create a yearly publication which effectively broadcasts Qatalum’s relationship with environmentalism via a sustainability report. The magazine’s purpose was expressed furthermore by the environmentally friendly manner in which it was produced. The colour pallet chosen was selected in order reduce ink consumption and included two main colours alone; a vivid green and striking black. Environmentally sound recycled paper was used to bring our sustainable vision for Qatalum full circle.

Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market

The resulting sustainability report was printed in a limited run of copies, and set a standard for the way Qatalum now designs this form of environmental outreach. Our approach succeeded in forming the backbone for the public’s interest by encouraging the discovery of hard facts which prove a company’s efforts in developing environmentally friendly working procedures.
