FVO: There was once a student who was sitting down to write his final exams. The exam took the form of just one question, requiring an essay to be completed. As the invigilator declared ‘you may now begin’, our student, like the 30 others in the hall, turned over the exam paper and regarded the question, which was:

FVO: Explain the geopolitical effects on Europe of the French Revolution. Unlike his colleagues, our student didn’t put pen to paper immediately. In fact, it was forty minutes before he wrote this: The geopolitical effects on Europe of the French Revolution have not yet been fully determined. That’s all he wrote. Later, when marking the exam papers, the history professor had no choice. He gave the student 100%.
