Brief Explanation

The theme of the event needed to capture the risk inherent in high heart rates. The message had to be clear and simple to deliver the message of 'Risk in a Heartbeat' while also being visually arresting to allow for strong event branding.

The Brief

CURE stands for Cardiovascular Updates Regional Event CURE is an annual event that brings together thought leaders in the Cardiovascular field, to improve the care available to patients suffering from heart conditions. The theme of the 2014 event was to ensure doctors and healthcare professionals treated not just high blood pressure, but high heart rate as well. By treating high heart rates as well as high blood pressure, doctors are able to deliver better outcomes for patients.

How the final design was conceived

When heartbeat rises for prolonged periods of time, it places enormous stress on the heart. This can be visually portrayed by showing an ECG reading literally ripping up the paper as the high heart rate is recorded.

Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market

The CURE event was attended by over 90 leaders in the Cardiovascular field, almost a 30% increase on previous years.

Merck Serono is a leading drug and pharmaceutical company providing a wide range of treatments, including cardiovascular treatments. Every year they host a conference for leading cardiologists across the Middle East. These attendees were the target audience.
