Brief Explanation

During the festive season, in Lebanon, greeting messages are produced by all companies & agencies, so our key objective was to create a greeting card that stands out not only in content but in execution also. The challenges were many, starting with the decision to produce the greeting in whole, in-house. The team is inexperienced in Latex puppet making, miniature set building & stop motion filming; but all worked hard to produce this film before the 24th of december, all the while juggling many client briefs!

The Brief

The goal was to create a greeting card to be sent to our clients and suppliers. Every year the agency sends a simple e-mail as a form of greeting; this time however when the festive season came around we decided to shake things up and invest some of our creativity to make our greeting a little more like us.

How the final design was conceived

The idea is that one should do whatever makes him merry to celebrate the season without having to follow common clichés We started with the character design. We sketched and sculpted our character, molded & casted latex in it to create our santa. We then crafted the whole set from scratch with simple resources, like pieces of wood and fabric. Finally to produce our film, we cashed in our favours, and got the help of a director, D.O.P. and sound designer. Frame by frame our santa came to life!

Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market

The stop motion greeting was sent to a few of our clients that received it very positively! On YouTube, the number of views reached far from the number of people the video was sent to, and definitely a number greater than expected. Most Fp7 regional offices shared the film, so did the McCANN world group page along with lebanese advertising pages.
