Brief Explanation

Client has strictly asked the agency to design a desktop calendar, and avoid a photo shoot or the need to download expensive images from sites like Getty or Corbis. The calendar also had to appeal to commercial and private vehicle owners, not just in terms of design but also in terms of its functional use.

The Brief

Every year Zayani Motors gives a calendar as a year-end gift to their client. But the brand wanted to turn this gift into something useful and differentiate from other brands, which also usually distribute calendars.

How the final design was conceived

Keeping design appeal and functional application in mind, the idea was to communicate serious/important messages but with a touch of humour. We turned the challenge into an opportunity and used illustrations to create single image stories that revolved around consumers and their vehicles. Each illustration captured a service relevant for a certain month, with a tip from Zayani Motors summing up the idea. The illustrations were further complemented with number plates frames to highlight the dates. The calendar was successful in showcasing Zayani Motors as an automobile expert with leading brands, which is further supported by professional service and value.

Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market

The client had initially requested 1000 copies to be distributed amongst their close corporate clients, private clients and also internally. However, due to it growing popularity and demand in just 3 weeks, they had to print an extra 1000 copies. Zayani Motors has also requested the agency to create a plan to use the illustrations and messages for branding across their showrooms.

Zayani Motors are the exclusive dealers of Mitsubishi, Peugeot and MG vehicle brands in Bahrain. The brand prides itself in offering the best vehicles in their class for commercial and private use. Their offerings go beyond sales; in fact Zayani Motors are known for their expertise and proficiency in after-sales service and maintenance.
