It was imperative that the final piece; - Highlighted the paper's characteristics - Engaged with the multi-cultural end-user community - Boost sales of paper - Reflected the brand values of excellence in design and print production

The Brief

Giffin Graphics, suppliers of high quality print machinery and servicing requested a desktop calendar to be designed that showcased the company's exceptional quality and print production executions, using a varied selection of Arjowiggins paper (one of their clients).

How the final design was conceived

The creative team developed the concept of ‘Celebrating Cultures’ past and present, which resonates with the multi-national client base of the United Arab Emirates, as well as embracing Giffin Graphics’ global interests. The calendar featured a split page ‘flip down’ format with every month displaying a portrait representing a specific culture. A magnetic clasp secured the pages. The top half has designs and illustrations that represent the creative spirit and imagination of the culture, completing the portrait. Print techniques, such as dayglow pantone inks and CMYK overprint on hotfoil, to name a few, further showcases the properties of the paperstock.

Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market

The client was thrilled with the results, boosting sales of paper and brand awareness significantly. Additionally, this calendar entry has already gain recognition by winning regional and international awards for both design and print excellence which further enhances the brands reputation for quality products and services.
