Brief Explanation

The biggest challenge was to do justice to the brand’s philosophy which is ‘In love with Fashion’ and work on a concept that would successfully marry fashion, art and photography. The objective was to tastefully blend styles and silhouettes, timeless fabrics and design aesthetics of the brand and the fashion it provides to create 12 visuals that sum up the Splash Limited Edition 2015 Calendar.

The Brief

The purpose of the calendar was to help raise the brand’s equity i.e. Splash and create a Calendar that will not just cater to the creative sensibilities of our stakeholders, media and partners but also something that will appeal to our regular consumers .The goal of the Calendar was to blend the world of the celestial and fashion.

How the final design was conceived

Bound to delve into the nuances of the most popular trends the Calendar expresses two diverse worlds- fashion and celestial. Eg. Cancer known to be simple and loving is dressed in the Mod trend with scissor hands to signify dominant characteristics while Leo motivated,majestic and suitably dressed in opulence reflects Safari Glam. Virgo, portrayed in the Floral trend brings out characteristics like faithful,sensual and the color white symbolizes purity. While each month is an individual story brought alive by dramatic sets & lavish props,the Calendar is bound by an invisible thread of the brand’s philosophy of ‘In Love with Fashion’

Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market

The calendar was well received by our consumers who get a desktop version on a minimum purchase at the store and so far almost 200,000 copies have been given out resulting in an overall increase in sales. On the Social Media front an App was created that allowed users to read their personal fashion horoscope and download the same to use as their wallpaper, which reached 100,000 users. The launch was highly driven through PR activities which also involved Behind-the-Scenes exclusive with high reach magazines & online portals. Post launch PR is worth AED 5 million till date.

Showcasing popular collection for men, women and teens Splash’s product portfolio includes a uni-brand concept and select international brands. Splash believes in being a trend-setter in the region and has successfully created some of the biggest brand properties/events like the bi-annual fashion shows & the Limited Edition Calendar. With constant revamping of the marketing portfolio, Splash has roped in Arab star Nicole Saba as its brand ambassador along with Bollywood heart-throb Salman Khan.
