The Brief
With are over 2.5 million Syrian refugees living in Lebanon & its neighboring countries, with more than 50 % of them being children in need of humanitarian assistance, Memac Ogilvy decided to step in and take matters into its own hands and try and make a difference in the lives of those who needed it most. We were our own client, making a difference for a target audience that only wanted their lost childhood back.
Creative Execution
Being part of the communication industry, we set off Santa Cause on a one month mission, from one Ogilvy office to another, making friends on the way, collection laughs and positive vibes, and most importantly reflecting Memac Ogilvy's true spirit in giving back! It was in fact, a SMALL Santa with a BIG Cause!
Describe the creative solution to the brief/objective.
In our attempt to spread the Christmas spirit, the giving & believing of bringing joy to Syrian refugees in Lebanon, we did what we do best: Spread news across the world in a fun & interactive way by getting our entire network to join in the cause.
Santa Cause, Memac Ogilvy's very own, became a piggy bank that went on a journey touring the Middle East, Europe & North Africa collecting donations for the Syrian Refugees in Lebanon!
Results
In a matter of just days, social media exploded with offices from Europe, the Middle East & Africa sharing their special Santa Cause moments! Not only did Santa collect a ho ho whole lot of money in each city he visited, but he also collected the warmth, Christmas spirit and heartfelt memories.
In the months that came, Santa Cause provided healthcare, food & shelter, with the money he raised, to the ones that needed it most, the millions of Syrian refugees in Lebanon!
Over 150 moments were shared on#SantaCause_ from all around the countries.
